George Carlin, everyone’s favorite comedian and anti establishment hero, has died of heart failure. He was 71 years old. George Carlin breathed his last breath in a Los Angeles hospital on Sunday night after suffering acute chest pains in the early afternoon and is now dead. The famous foul mouthed comedian was probably cursing his luck while being fetched to St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, and must have swore he had more to offer the world when he was finally brought to the Lord late on the same night.

George Carlin was infamous for his swearing tirades during his comedy routines. There were also numerous references to drug and its related culture on his show, and George Carlin not only reveled in its success, but also capitalized on the attention his routines garnered all over the country. Everyone from that generation of the 70’s will remember his notorious routine involving seven swear words that could not be uttered on national TV at that time.

It was a routine that landed George Carlin in the US Supreme Court, and instead of being beaten into submission and following rules strictly, George Carlin grew from strength to strength. The “Filthy Words” sketch brought him nationwide and worldwide fame, and since then he has become a well loved comedian in many Americans’ hearts.

Listening to George Carlin’s routines and then looking at his picture, you would not have suspected this guy of being capable of hurling swear words from his mouth. His kind and gentle looks endeared him to audiences both young and old, and to this day, George Carlin’s comedy routines are still played repeatedly by many individuals, on TV and even on the Internet. George Carlin was an icon in his own right, and the comedy world will now have a huge void due his passing.
