About The Truly Beautiful

The Truly Beautiful is a brand-new musical project born not from strategy, but from spark—an organic, electrifying collision of like minds and loud hearts on a Melbourne stage.

The band came together organically—an unexpected alchemy of seasoned players who knew, the moment they played together, that something rare had just occurred.

Chris Falcon Hill, a songwriter and performer with a long creative history that includes collaborations stretching back to the 1980s with multi-instrumentalist and artist Mark Ewenson, found himself in spontaneous musical conversation at a local Melbourne open mic with Adam Johnstone—bassist for The Peptides and Elwood Dad’s Band—and Sean Kelly, the iconic multi-instrumentalist from TISM. With no rehearsal and no expectations, the trio locked into something raw and joyful that lit up the room.

From that moment, The Truly Beautiful began to form—not as a brand, but as a band. Sean brings his unique sonic chaos and occasional brilliance whenever the stars align. Adam holds the centre with warm, intuitive bass work. Chris brings the songs—poetic, gritty, often heartbreaking—and sings them like a man trying to tell the truth before the lights go out.

The sound? Think alt-country meets art-rock, dipped in gothic folk and set alight with improvised spirit. It’s music for long drives, full moons, back rooms, and those moments where laughter and sorrow hold hands.

The Truly Beautiful are just beginning. Come see what happens next.
